Olive oil Because of the mild climate and the good location of Chalkidiki, the Greek olive oil is of very high quality and has an incomparable and very aromatic taste. Olives The olives in Halkidiki are quite large and have a special taste and are just as popular as the delicious olive oil. Ouzo In Chalkidiki, where the reare large wine-growing areas, you can get one of the best home made ouzo (an iseed schnapps) and tsipouro (traditional Greek pomace brandy). Ouzo is traditionally only made in Greece. It is a product of the distillation of grape vines and refined with a nise. Due to the traditional production and in harmony with nature, a high quality and aromatic, full-bodied goat cheese is produced. Honey Halkidiki is also called the mother of bee keeping. With over 6,500 bee keepers and about 2000 tons of honey per year, it covers about 32% of the production of Greece. The rich flora on Kassandra, Sithonia and northern Chalkidiki, combined with the Mediterranean mild climate, make this honey so uniquely aromatic with high nutrition value.
