Coffee
In Greece, coffee is the way to get together and socialize, meet with friends, mingle with locals or have a relaxing time over
a cup of coffee in one of the many cafes the area has to offer. It is very common to sit for a long time over a cup of coffee.
Some coffees are the classics and must to be tried at least once.
Greek coffee still predominates among the older generation. This is traditionally prepared in a long-handled jug (Bricki) and
then served in a small mocha cup.
The younger Greeks mostly prefer the Cafe Frappe, or Frappe for short, the well-known cold coffee drink of the Greeks.
Frappe is particularly popular in summer when it gets really hot. Frappe differs from iced coffee in that it is cooled with ice
cubes instead of vanilla ice cream. The coffee is prepared by foaming the Nescafe with sugar (also works without it) in a
cocktail shaker. Depending on your taste, it can be refined with milk. The frappe is then served in a large glass, topped up
with ice cubes and water. Of course, all other types of coffee can also be found in the Greek cafes.
