Welcome to "Chalkidiki Dreams” – A Ticket to Paradise! Our idea was born during one of many fun, sociable evenings while enjoying delicious Greek disheson Michaela’s roof terrace, while enjoying for one more time the unique and breathtakingview of the gold shimmering sea while the sun was diving into it. Over a glass of wine we talked about all those wonderful places, the views, the way of living and how many things are there to experience and discover for both tourists and locals. A page where you can virtually discover every touristic sight, find and book a hotel, find a hidden traditional restaurant, plan a hike or organize your dream vacation by the beach. Everything your heart desires under one roof. The Chalkidiki or Halkidiki, as the locals call it, is located in northern Greece and protrudes into the Aegean Sea in three finger-like headlands. The headlands are named Kassandra (Pallene), Sithonia (peninsula) and Athos (Agion Oros). Due to its geographical shape, the Chalkidiki is often known as the "3-fingered hand". Chalkidiki is also known as "Poseidon's trident" from ancient mythology. Kassandra and Sithonia are popular vacation destinations for many, with Kassandra having the best tourist infrastructure and most hotels. The coastal regions immediately catch your eye due to the extensive fine sandy beaches, which are interrupted by rocky sections of the coast. The "second finger", Sithonia, is mountainous in contrast to Kassandra and is largely characterized by cliffs, however hosts many secluded paradisaical and picturesque bays where you can find peace and solitude even during the high season. The "third finger", Athos was named after the holy mountain Athos (2033 m). It is the highest mountain in Chalkidiki and can be seen from afar from all the peninsulas. Athos is an autonomous Orthodox monastic republic. Entry is only possible with exceptions. But you can admire and explore the region from the sea. The hinter land of Chalkidiki has it’s charm, with its imposing mountain ranges, the lush pine forests and the impressive olive groves. It is ideal for hiking, cycling and finding peace and quiet away from the tourist strongholds.
